I've been looking for a job as a shepherd in the Catford area of SE london for years. but the job never seems to come up.
Coming into work, picking something relevant out of a long list of software features to work on, then doing it well. With occasional breaks digging inside a boat with a spanner, and doing some research and problem solving. Which gives me the money to keep the bus going. I seem to be doing it.
I’m thinking of giving up my job of 21 years as a school teacher to drive a lorry. I have a class 2 licence but have never used it so it might be hard to get a job with no experience. Any thoughts from you drivers out there would be greatly appreciated.
So retired really - I can recommend it !! Maybe a fighter pilot - but a friend of mine got killed doing that. I think a job that paid around £150k and didn't need any hard manual work - something like the CEO of an international charity or a judge whose family is in the oil business so I can put fracking p protestors in jail - sorry a bit political that one. Now how about a a lumberjack

Music ... Insufficiently driven and couldn't find the right teamsters Ceramics ... Had a go but caved as soon as commercial constraints came into it Photography ... The world went digital so I lost interest You get the picture ... Lots of things that were fine as an idea but which always failed in the cold light of day!
You may be better doing a few weekends agency work to see if you like it first. Phone the agencies and explain your situation, they are quite approachable and definitely need drivers. After teaching, the simple thinking and rigid uniformity might be a consideration, but we’re a understanding bunch and won’t hold it against you
Ideal jobs @Geordie showing me how to work with wood, that’s wood not his wood Trophy cleaner at Tottenham, nothing to do all day

I quite like the idea of running a campsite. Though I suspect it’s not what I expect it to be. Even found this on evil bay...
You will just have to pretend and herd all the people down there instead ...keep you busy ....but on no account slaughter them .
If we hadn't moved to the colonies I think I'd have been happy to have taken over my Grandads farm in South Ayrshire.
Always wanted to be a lift operator but heard it was a job with lots of ups and downs and monotonous chanting doors opening doors closing
I wanted to be a farmer when I was young until my friend kicked me in the nadds and said here’s two acres to start of with. I really wanted to be a ocean sailor but always had you can’t afford that from my parents. I can’t complain I worked in primary schools for 15 years which I enjoyed now run my own small business as a large format printer it keeps me busy and I work from home and I enjoy it.
A bit sad but always wanted to be a electrician and I made it. unfortunately after a few years I ended up as a facilities manager behind desk then got ill and now only work part time as a handyman dreaming of being a full time electrician again
