As title says , It doesn’t happen all the time , but every time it does ,and if I turn on the fan it goes out , is it possible that my alternator is over charging? Type 4 engine Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When you turn on the fan the battery voltage drops as its quite a current drain. Then it matches the slightly low alternator output voltage ... so the light goes out.
I must admit I’ve not got around to checking, I will do it tonight when I get in from work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Mike , so I think you are saying that the alternator is not working 100% ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It could mean the alternator output is a bit lower at low engine RPM than it should be, or the battery may be a little old and its resistance is higher than a new battery. Measure the voltages . See what happens when you turn the fan on with the ignition on and then with the ignition off. My money is on a well used battery.
