Wood above the engine bay ?

  1. Hi where can I get the wood from above the engine the stuff with holes in it ? Or is it even neccecary ? Cheers paul
     
  2. It's just hardboard with holes in, holding bags of soundproofing stuff.

  4. Ok cool . Does it need a fire retardant putting on or is it just plain old hardboard ? I have some of the bags of insulation stuff cheers paul

  6. I'd imagine plain old hardboard would. VW tended to use the waterproof stuff - can't remember what it's called.

  12. I have some metal original tins think there for a bus with no hatch tho certainly not for my bus lol

    When I made them, for some reason I didn't think about fire retardant stuff..
    It'll be something I'll do soon.

    I have metal sheets there holding up something looks like wool, covered in PVC. It used to have PVC until I set fire to it. The wool just charred a bit.

  20. Yeh! it will be fine with a fire suppressant system. What's the worst that can happen?
