My mirrors (both sides) are moving when I slam the doors. And yes, I have to slam them so the shut on the ridiculously huge door seals which don't (despite assurances) seem to be bedding in after 3 years of trying. I digress....... It’s not the arms of the mirror that move, rather the actual mirror itself. Can this rotating socket thingy be tightened if the mirror is removed. Can the mirror even be removed?????
I suspect there's tightening nut inside the mirror, but you'd have to break the glass to get to it. You can get spare glass, I believe.
PS Loads of glass on fleaBay, if you do have to do the deed... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-VW-T...570409&hash=item1ed1c5a343:g:~-MAAOSwT2dZ6E3C
Not just me with a door seal that won't bed in then. I too need to shut (slam) the door to close it. I'm going to replace it with a grey one from schofields. Heard these are v.good.
Try a dab of a bit of red Loctite on the joint then waggle it to get it in the gap then line it up right.
The I bought mine from C&C I believe. Don’t get me wrong, the quality is excellent. Just wish they’d make them a slightly smaller profile so the door fits in the gap.
Hmmmm mine came from C&C too.... lovely soft grey and keep the water out a treat.... but also find slamming is necessary. My passenger mirror moved every time, but I think that was the domed nut at the bottom. Gave in and replaced it and all okay so far, despite the need to slam. Glue, or blue tack as an experiment first, sounds like a plan though. For the record, my mirrors were dead easy to replace should you need to.
