Anyone know where I can buy a rubber hose to connect to my underslung tank? It’s (I think) 1/2” flare fitting at the tank end and would need at least 2’ long I have searched google and eBay etc and see plenty from the states but none from round here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like it could have been the right place but all of the hoses with suitable fittings are out of stock - I may give them a call on Tuesday
Right , I’m having a bit of a mare with the regulator ... I’m not sure what’s right or wrong... I’m going to be running a newer propex hs2000, the instructions state that it should be fed by 37mbar propane or 28/30mbar butane. I’m going to be running it from the underslung tank, at the moment it has a 50mbar regulator but I always thought Autogas was a mixture of propane and butane so god knows what pressure I should use on it?? As i typed this I thought to myself that maybe I should just phone propex and ask which I will do tomorrow .. But I’ve also got my cooker ( old original type ) not sure what pressure this should run on - I’ve used propane and butane and always thought they would be the same pressure but it would appear not .. I’ve heard varying opinions what pressure to regulate to and someone else threw a spanner in the works today by saying the propex pressures stated are minimum pressures required for it to work efficiently and it should be ok on the 50mbar lpg regulator ? Any thoughts ?
Mine is a Manchester one I think and runs in inch water thingys or something like that. Anyway I think it works out at 28 mbar and my cooker and propex work fine. Not sure if it is right but it works
Ive just found this one : http://www.lpgshop.co.uk/gas-regulator-37-mbar-g1-4-lpg-2kg-h/ Which looks similar but it says the inlet/outlet are 1/4” I’m sure I measured mine to be 1/2” don’t really want to be screwing adaptors in for the sake of it
I think i got my regulator from here: http://www.goldrv.co.uk/parts/products/12155/two-stage-regulators/ a 2 stage jobby. i know i got it from the UK but other parts i replaced ;like the bleed valve i got from the USA here: http://vanagonwestfaliaaccessories.com/ and my thread with some info: http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/my-1979-lhd-westy-us-import.668/page-7
https://www.gasit.co.uk/leisure-gas...gna-new-30mb-regulator-8mm-angled-outlet.html This one on Chip, running under slung propex and Westy hob via internal refillable tank. 8mm interfaces with propex pipework so should be ok for you @Dazza. We've used autogas all over Europe with no pressure issues with that set up.
11 kg. (21l) more than enough to keep everything going for ayyyyyges and compact enough not to loose much space in the cupboard https://www.gasit.co.uk/leisure-gas...evel-/-contents-gauge-price-includes-vat.html
I'm tempted by a 6kg as we don't use it as much as you do. Downside is I will leave to put the spare in the front. Or up on the roof rack
Spare on the front is a divider for sure! Tbh I find it evens out the weight distribution and makes the bus feel a bit more planted at the front. @Dicky 's front mount solution is spot on if you didn't want invasive holes in your pristine front end. Anyway when was the last time you needed a spare. Some jizz in a can would get you out of trouble unless you were on a long road trip and then you could fit the spare
If it helps anyone - here is the response from Propex : Hi, You need to change that regulator I’m afraid, pressure is too high and your appliances would need re-jetting to be suitable. 50mbar Propane is only really used in Germany, even though Europe as a whole has standardised on 30mbar. In this country the Caravan industry has standardised on 30mbar but 37mbar for Propane, and 28mbar for Butane is still used for other applications. The LPG in your gas tank will be mainly Propane although some Butane could be used in summer time. We would suggest you try and get a 30 mbar Caravan regulator or, if you can’t find one that fits, a 37mbar Propane regulator. Regards, David.
So Daz is your tank German or USA in origin? As @pkrboo said above his is a Manchester one but that is US and has US pipe fittings. It was this incompatibility that prompted me to ditch our US stuff in favour of euro fittings. Tails off the tank fit direct to the regulator which in turn uses standard 8mm pipe to the appliances. Where are you planning on fitting the regulator?
I'll see if I can have another trawl of my emails and see if I can find where I definitely ordered it from
