Headlining -fitting.

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by GONA66, Jan 12, 2018.

  1. Having purchased some sound deadening material last year to put in the crewcab, I also need to purchase and fit a headlining. At the moment I have just a bare roof, so far I think i'll need 4 bows too ! But I've a few questions chaps.

    1, What else will I need ?
    2, Best place to purchase the headlining ,etc.
    3, Is it a two man job ?
    4, Or would I be better fitting something else ?
    5, Has anybody fitted one and what is the process / is it a d.i.y job ?
    Any feedback on this would be appreciated :thumbsup:.

    I've done a few cabs, not sure what the Doka set up is like originally, could do with some pics!
    It's not particularly difficult just take your time, or do it in ply!

    I did a t25 doka. It just clips at the back and stretch to the front behind the screen. Then clips at the sides. I found it a simple job :thumbsup:
    Or is it I'm simple and it's a job :thinking:

    You need to remove the screen, and you need someone to make you a lining , I'm guessing they could do with an original to use as a pattern though!

    You need to cut the strips off the sides and replace with a j section to hold the edges of the ply

  17. :eek::eek::eek::eek: CUT ! Did you say ?
    I'll have a think on that and see if I can fathom something out less drastic.

    Actually you can probably leave the original in place and put the new j lower, I think @MorkC68 has a ply one in one of his ?

  19. I think before I do anything i'll have a look at some with ply and get a few ideas .
