why o why do folk have to get so drunk they can hardly stand up and then fight each other, I’m parked outside the Grand hotel Brighton waiting for my customers and I’ve seen 2 fights, its a scary place out there, I’m sure it wasn’t like this when I young and out with my mates or was it
Probably all fighting over who gets to take the taxi that's parked outside the Grand. Seriously, if you grew up in a steel town in the 80's then this kind of thing was a right of passage.
Thanks @Geordie, I’ve locked my car, there are so many w out here tonight, it’s almost Christmas why don’t they just enjoy themselves
Plus it seems common practice nowadays to be half cut before you go out I’m not old compared to the majority on this forum But I’m glad to have figured out how daft most of what other people call normal is.
It's because they get Anus'ed before they go out on shared bottles of spirit . The government tax on drinks in boozers is to high ....them thinking it will curb alcoholism and using that the excuse to up it . It has had the opposite effect ....remember when they dropped the alc level on Stella from 5.2 to 4.8 . What was the point in that when all they did was get really cheap polish lager like Tyskie and Ziewich at 5.6 alc at even less money than Stella . Lower the price of booze in pubs and they may well not binge prior to going out ...as it would be more affordable . then the landlord can then monitor there condition ...they have a duty not to serve if over . I think you are about the same age as me Baz and i certainly didn't whack spirits down before we went out .
I was in EG today Barry, it was very quiet. Apparently they've all gone down to Brighton for a pre-Christmas fight.
Best to get monged down the shed baz. (Thats the one in the garden not the one where the muppets live on saturday afternoons).... no trouble there, and you can have a pee without getting nicked.
It does have a bit of a reputation that grand hotel baz I didn’t know Brighton was on your manor was it hand bag fights ??
Your getting old Bazza Never used to see much bother in Barnsley. There was one pub if you wanted a fight you just went there after 10pm. About 25 other pubs to choose from so no stress. Worst was when the doorman used to have problems with each other
We used to stop off in Barnsley whenever West Ham played up proper north - stayed with some girls we met in Tenerife one summer. Longest lasting fight I've ever seen was in a pub there, two brothers fighting the doormen. Started when we were walking in towards the bar, waited ages to get served and they were still going at it when we left. Absolute true story. The girls used to drink like blokes - have vague memories of signing in as guests in a workingmen's club near the town centre that was proper cheap, the only pub name I can remember was The Corner Pin?
