I remember those parking lights. Wasn't it the law that you had to show a lamp when you were parked at night, white to the front and red to the rear? Where I lived most cars seemed to have them (early 60's).
Those rubbers with a steel strip inside that hung down to make contact with the road - supposed to stop travel sickness. Definitely one from the 'I saw you coming' locker.
I got into serious trouble from my Dad when I put one of those on his Jag. Said it gave the wrong image and made us look lower class.
Right, where can I get the tyre pump that replaces a spark plug and uses engine compression to inflate. There is so much going on with that as a concept I'm not sure where to start.....
Theres an especially impractical name for a childs cycle in there... Quite fun when you realise that the prices are basically one shilling equals one pound today (17x inflation) so quite a lot of stuff in the catalogue is cheaper now than in 1965.
Could imagine my old man storming out nowadays, with indignant steam blowing out of his ears after seeing signs for "we fit windscreen wipers and bulbs for you"
Would have mortified my old man as well, the thought of some spotty chav doing his work. He used to have an old 80s Mercedes W123. At the back of the Owners Manual, there was helpful advice on...taking the engine out. How times have changed...
Who wouldn't want to fill their tyres full of a highly combustable mixture of air and petrol? Sounds fine to me
