  4. Hi,
Cool temp sensor mod but where is the Air Flow Sensor (or is that the same as the air temp sensor ?)

Also what pipes did you use off the throttle body reverser? (top down pic would be great.) .... or didn't you go down that route and U bend off the throttle body (no reverser) into the air box?
Hope that makes sense, I like what you've done,

    Cheers,
    PG

  5. no mass air flow sensor on my engine as it was before they started using them.

i got a 90 degree silicon bend and cut it right down and then used the alu 90 degree pipe to make the U bend. This is only possible as i am using the scooby box with subarugears gearbox and the way it sits it pushes the engine 40mm further back from the firewall, if using an adapter or RJES bell housing you will need a throttle body reverser (RJES always have the in stock)

The inlet air temp sensor i relocated from the back of the airbox and drilled a hole in that pipe and then used a rubber grommet, same as how it was in the airbox

  6. You're a star, thanks for the pics and explaining it.

I've actually got the throttle body reversed but wondered about yours. Everything else arrived too so cracking on with it.
    Thanks again,

  7. New intelligent split charge relay fitted as old dumb one doesn't play nice with the Scooby engine. Then took it out for a spin and fill up of petrol. By God it's quick, still amazed every time I drive it.

  8. top man, the thought of driving it keeps me going.

Latest hiccup, I've got an auto box so need to fit a RJES kick down flange to it, should have been a simple swap, bolt on bolt off ...

but PO of the gearbox welded it together :sigh:

Is your box 003 or 010?

I think I'm going to stick a manual scooby box in mine.

Have you got a thread going?

  10. no I haven't got a thread but I will start one next week ( this one had loads of good info and is one of the better conversion ones so I haven't left it :)

I had a 003, the earlier auto box, but they aren't ideal for the conversion, when I looked into it using a late (> 1976 on) 010 box made life simpler.

Once I have found a welder and got that done I'll get my thread going. Any mobile welders near chelmsford get in touch.

  11. Can you send me pics and details/prices for the auto stuff you got from RJES, I know someone who is after an auto box Scooby conversion

  12. Hmmm, how much needs welding? I could maybe come down....

I think you should persuade that person to go manual.

  14. costs a lot more to convert from auto to manual and go scooby

  15. I'll get some prices pm'd over but its not that bad to be honest, in fact really not much more at all, you still need adaptor plates etc which you'd have to buy anyway so its not really a "mega bucks cost more route" if that makes any sense.
People also say the flex plate wont be able to handle it, but it can, its just a hand me down myth.

There is a guy, fahtal, in Holland who completed one and he loves it. Thats the only auto conversion I know of apart from mine.
AFAIK I'm the only person to have swapped a 010 for a 003, and they do swap into place perfectly (thank god :)

Anyway the welding, 2 items, 1 is the moustache cross bar, thats currently supported by a jack in situ, my engine is in and bolted up. The other is re bodging the bodge for want of a better way of putting it. Pic attachd should have been a nut on the thread to unbolt and bolt in the new kick down flange, but it has been welded together. So I'll grind away the weld so the new kickdown plate offers up to it, but then that will have to be welded into place, thats the only way.
The pics should explain. Ignore the text on the bottom picture, the only route is to weld it again.
