It's like Ant an Deck , I can't believe how an earth they have become so popular . You see them receiving award after award , i think people just convince themselves they must be good if they are on telly .....I just shake my head when i see them on telly , there like a terrible Morecambe and wise act . Your going to tell me you like them now arn't you

  6. Comedians are best live i think. That said the venue is important. Not interested in stadium comedy! Most of thos who have made it big are capable of turning it on. The office was good but Gervais is terrible doing stand up. Worst ive ever seen! He does have some funny things to say .....sometimes!

  7. I don't know about that - I have seen some good stadium comedy - Newman and Baddiel, with Rob Newman arriving on stage on a 2-stroke skateboard - you couldn't pull that one off in a hole-in-the-wall comedy club ;)

  8. That was a differnt age. Was that Mary Whitehouse?

Seen rob newman in a small club. Very good!

  9. It was shortly after Mary Whitehouse, when Newman and Baddiel went off touring a lot of their stuff developed from Mary Whitehouse (History Today, etc) and Punt and Dennis got their own TV show for a while.

People from Sarf lundon will know what that means

  14. Saw jimmy carr live. He was very funny and sharp as a tack.

    I really enjoyed car share.

I also think ant and decs sat show is really good. Old fashioned early sat night entertainment in the style of noels house party. Funny but for all the family.

Best comedian I ever saw live was Bernard manning.

One that never gets old for me is frankie Boyle.

  17. I keep several lists in my head, Peter Kaye is on one of them, along with James Corden, Ricky Gervais, Alexi Sayle, Neil Burgess (aka Barry Scott) and the bloke with the mullet off the double glazing advert .... it is not a list anyone should aspire to be on. That is all.

Even some of us Northerners can guess what is rhyming slang for 'up front'; you're a very naughty boy Barry Haynes.
Like Lee Mack, he and David Mitchell are a good foil for each other on Would I Lie To You.
Jimmy Carr was excellent live as was the German Ambassador of Comedy, Henning Wehn; he's one of your lot isn't he Barry, being from Tooting? He tells a story of a gig he did in Bolton, his accent obviously confused the audience as someone shouted for him to 'F##k off back to that London'.
