It was the desk fight going on in the background that kept me watching.
Ricky Gervais was not the comedy. Too close to too many method acting managers I have encountered...

Love not going out, but Lee's stand up is dire....and I'm a Northerner!

Yep, Not Going Out was one of the funniest things in a while; not seen much 'Live' stand-up so can't comment.

Trouble with comedians is they've all got much shorter shelf life than they themselves realise, Peter Kay's mum wants a bungalow tour was funny, Mickey Flanagan did out out tour which was good, even enjoyed Michael Macintyre for a short time but they all loose their edge quickly then a newer one comes along!

Yeah, I heard that a lot in fairness - I guess having never worked in that environment it was just a bit lost on me. Even so, I'm not a fan of Ricky Gervais in anything he's done so it's not just down to 'experience of subject'.
Almost as bad as Michael McIntyre.... But then a lad at work thinks he's funniest guy ever... personal taste of course. Give me a good ol' Carry On film, or The Goodies fighting a giant Dougal any day :D

Peter kaye NOOOOO That Knob from the office NOOOOOOOO Jimmy Carr NOOOOOOO and the other most overrated celeb is fat boy bloater James Corden..WTF Do you just turn up and you get folk slobering over how great you are these days ... its like folk who bang on about how great the goons were or how talented the Pythons were .. or even John Cleese and John Bishop.. there all garbage ... Keith Lemon WTF ...

There's an Australian bloke on the scene who's quite entertaining, cant remember his name, Kevin maybee ?? then there is Kevin Bridges , and will concede Mickey Flanagan is quite good..

BUT, You cant beat a good Laurel and Hardy short ..

I can remember when Jasper Carrot and Mike Harding were funny, at least they had the good grace to give up comedy and do something else now though.

Ross Noble is very funny live - takes you on a surreal journey with much laughter.

  13. The turnover of comedians is an interesting thing. What is it that gives people like Billy Connelly such longevity?. He's the funniest comedian I've ever listened to by the way.

I dunno, it's just tastes varying, that's all. My dad hated Monty Python and loved Dad's Army, I loved them both. Even I would concede, looking back at some Python now, some of it doesn't make me laugh any more. Frank Spencer didn't used to make me laugh but was massively popular. I used to like The Good Life but that was probably just teenage hormones going off the scale for Felicity Kendal. Peter Kay does make me laugh, so does Ricky Gervais. There, I'vevsaid it. :p

Saw Billy a few months ago, was a bit worried as he's suffering with Parkinson's but he did a full two hours and was brilliant

Count Arthur Strong and Harry Worth would be my typical sense of humour. Frustrating and completely annoying I like that.:):)
