I've only been the once, it wasn't what I'd been lead to believe it would be. It was vintage & nostalgic, but it was a very, very narrow slice of very British, very forties/fifties nostalgia. OK, but won't bother again.
You have a point. It is a bit samey. Good when they have buses there and they had vintage campers there on year. Its near home so and easy day out. (Or few hours)
So did anyone go? I saw quite a lot of vintage cars out on the road today, and was passed by a nice Splitty pick-up and one of those Bay conversions that looks like it's reversed into a caravan. Next year I'll remember in time and pop along myself.
Crotch coolers at the Departure lounge cafe in Alton was also on today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We wuz there .... 2nd pic down , @paul2590 & the @Lasty bus . T`was alright but not as good as previous , missed the quirky-ness of past vintage Nostalgta events although the temperence ladies were in attendance . Bumped into Eddie who was on top form and back on the pints Apology ... Anyone in a maroon early/crossover break down on the A303 just before Stonehenge ?? Would have pulled over but was `negotiating` a lorry and didn`t get chance ... sorry !
Like you, I enjoyed it as ever, but maybe not as much as previous ones. I was expecting the fly-past from the bi-planes but that never materialised, and while I saw Mainwaring, the "full-clip" of the Home Guard weren't there this year... That said, I enjoyed the music and friends of ours with kids had them royally entertained by the Django chap all weekend. The weather (mostly) behaved. Good food, good beer, good company. And as far as festivals go, decent toilets mostly clean... Also a range of great vehicles to look at that aren't just VWs... I'm up for next year for sure.
