Want to say hello, i own a 73 westy for the last 20 years, ups and downs with it as i am sure most of you have had lol. Looking for a reliable mechanic that people have had work done and are happy with. No back street mates please as i have had my fill of them over the years. Just on the back end of a refurb and my wallet is feeling slightly light .
Welcome you've taken your time. Plenty of very worthwhile and helpful info on here with good banter to boot.
Hello and welcome! I have no idea of trustworthy folks up your way, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly with local recommendations.
If Chorley isn't too far from you then I highly recommend http://www.whillgarage.co.uk/ They specialise in classic VW's and James the owner has several. He tuned my 40 year old dual carburetor's to perfection.
Hi Steve I am also from Manchester and since getting my van 8 years ago I have used Stefan at MAC VW. I have always been completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him without reservation. Welcome to TLB.
Not from Altringham is he? I am south side of Manchester, Im having engine trouble and need a front floor pan re welding due to an ( ok just remembered the no swearing rule) person overlooking it. Dont ask, its history and i am not prepared to go there lol.
Sale. I have used two local garages for engine repairs that are walking distance from me, but as the older guys have now retired and the newer guys can not find the diagnostic plug so they are clueless as what they are doing, so i am looking for vw aircooled specialist. I have had 2 put forward to try so i will check them out first. I posted my restoration in the other section so people can see how far it has come, loving the site as well. Lots of interesting threads i am reading.
