We're off to Yorkshire for a few days and I want to spend some quality sunrises and sunsets with my camera. So I've made a start on places I'd like to see/photograph, have I missed any 'unmissable' places. I think we'll be doing a mixture of wild camping, pub car park camping and maybe even a campsite or two. Any recommendations would be gratefully received, Ta. Edit: Doh! here's the places. West Burton Force Ribblesdale Viaduct Hardcastle Crags near Heptonstall Aysgarth Falls Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Janet's Foss. Crackpot Falls Hardraw Force Thornton Force. Catrigg Foss Posforth Gill.
The campsite at Goredale scar will be a great location to take some photos from and an experience in its own right!
Actually I'd just read your post about them still taking vans. That does look like a nice view straight outside the door.
its a beautiful site There is a river running through it or get up towards the goredale scar end of the site and get amazing views of the scar
Malham cove is on my "definate" list. I'm hoping for some interesting weather, storms for example or even snow and ice.
Wait a minute, you haven't mentioned Whitby! One of the few places where you can see the sunrise over the sea and the sunset over the sea on the same day! Some folks have been posting spectacular photos of the northern lights at Whitby on FB. Even without the sun Whitby is a great and atmospheric place for photography: great scenery, lovely harbour, amazing abbey, cobbled street, steam trains, goths, you name it, Whitby has it! Best fish and chips as well as great pubs!
Stop it! We're back at the end of June for a few days at Runswick Bay; looking forward to going back to Abbey Wharf, we enjoyed the fish and chips served there especially the Whitby Brewery beers
No problem, text me her address and tell her she'll have two very nice people call and they should be given coffee and lots of chocolate biscuits. You might also like to suggest that she should bake us a cake as well.
