Looking good I like the side bars, I'm picturing them painted as rocket launchers in an A team stylee!
I feel if I say this you will spring a trap... Handbrake or drop it or brick/wedge under the wheel... Looking good mr Para...
I've fitted the front bumper and tarted up the old number plates. I'll remove the masking and fit them tomorrow.
Black & silver plates. I remember reading somewhere they were for 73 and prior years. I've also read something different lately where if the vehicle has classic status their allowed. Legal or not I don't really care, not my bus but imo I think they'll look pants. As I said, each to their own.
Weve been running black & silver plates on our westy for years with no issues. Our neighbour is a DI in Notts Police & his wife is even higher up than he is. They look round the buses regularly and haven't seen the plates as an issue
From DVLA Vehicles that can display black and silver plates Since April 2015 vehicles manufactured before 1 January 1975 can display the older style plates. You must: have applied to DVLA, and be registered within the ‘historic vehicles’ tax class. Vehicles not registered in the historic tax class If you’re not registered within the historic class you can’t display the black and silver number plates. Check out the rules for number plates.
Maybe, maybe not..I'll take the chance! I know what MOT guys to use, Ill not lose sleep over that one I think Para's plates go well with the scheme of his bus its a ten from Len
Really how picky could they get. Nice looking van and some jealous jobsworths that is right sad innit.
I've had those plates on the van since 2006 and never had a problem with the mot or police Some people may think painting my van green from top to bottom looks pants I couldn't care less I'm building my van how I want it
Agreed ... Technically speaking they are illegal but i don`t think you`ll get any hassle ... I had to get a new yellow and black plate made up for my `72 bonneville when it failed for having a black and silver reg plate . Gave me a chuckle as the same bloke had done the test for 15+ years but the pressed steel plate was well undersize , that never bothered him ... Mot done - steel plate back on when i got home Van`s looking great - Techenders debut maybe ??
