Has anyone here driven their campervan to or from Applecross via Bealach na Bà?

Me too, spent untold hours playing pass the pigs on the gally table whilst flying in our Nimrod (The Mighty Hunter) searching the cold, cruel, heartless expanses of ocean for Russian submarines.

I used to like a nice double leaning jowler

Yeah, I've been up some pretty steep hills in my bus in the past but this mountain pass gets quite a fierce write up. I'm off to to the North Coast 500 this summer and that's one of the possible routes.

  8. I've not been quite that far north... yet.

I think a few of the write ups in the campsite trips section mention it

  12. I know its a pig on a push bike, so I am guessing a van could be challenging!

  15. Yes we did it last Summer, went from East to West and took the coast road on the way back. Only as it was a different route and new views to see. We were all 2 litre type 4 vans and it wasn't difficult. A slight driveshaft knock from mine on the way up round the tight hairpins and smelly brakes when we got to the bottom at Applecross:thumbsup:

Excellent, we'll go over the top then rather than taking the soft girly bypass road.

  18. Aiy, I ave so. bigger, longer and harder than Hardknott pass but the bends ain't as tight! I think.

Not a cyclist btw just thought I see what some of those triathlon type challenges are like in the highlands, only did the remote navigation over two days, walking not running and a bit of the biking when up there several summers ago.
