Few little jobs done today: Swapped out old leisure battery Propex heater wasn't firing up, bit of googling and it seems blowing up exhaust and inlet was the answer. Nice and toasty now. Fitted some edging strips to the trim to tidy it up a little
From the first pic you're missing a piece of metal pipe that reaches to the middle then joins the other with a plastic T piece which then connects to the air filter. This is the fuel tank breather system and looks like it all needs checking thoroughly, I'd be asking the PO whether any of its been replaced recently? http://www.thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/avoid-a-fire-everyone-should-read-this.38433/
Indeed as that sits it appears the fuel tank is open with the fumes venting straight into the engine bay After fitting the T piece the hose then connects to that unused port on the side of the aircleaner in the picture.
The thing is if the pipes you can reach are in that condition you can pretty much say with some certainty that the pipes on the top of the tank behind the firewall are equally as rogered. Engine out job to sort them out.......but far better than turning the old girl into a whopping great BBQ..... I plan on doing mine this winter and replacing the fuel filler neck while I'm at it.....
That's why I put the link up and suggested talking to the previous owner, it was sold as a minter with lots of history after all!
Engine will be out over the winter months as I've got some seat belts to fit. I'll give pipes a good check over whilst im there.
