He must have nads of steel to sit in that thing at those sort of speeds... I guess it helps to have a cocoon around him when he stacks it, but it must be a right Bstard to try and keep it upright and in a straight line if you can't shift your body about! I hope he gets to have another pop at it.

  5. He doesn't really fit,
there is not enough leg room,

An American has just been killed attempting the same record,in a similar vehicle..

Guy, is more than ever putting his life on the line with this one..

It was when he said his vision was funny due to the curve in the screen but it was alright with one eye shut so he was happy to carry on

  8. That's what it takes to break speed records. Andy Green lost control of Thrust SSC on one run, when they inspected the desert the whole thing was airborne for about 30 feet. He kept going too :)

  9. In the '60's Craig Breedlove was attempting to break the Land Speed Record when his parachute brakes failed to deploy at over 500mph. The vehicle run on for over 5 miles, demolishing a row of telegraph poles before only stopping as it went into a handy small lake at about 200mph! He clambered out unharmed:eek:

  10. Don't worry...It'll be right...:)

  11. Breedlove did even better than that in 1996 when Spirit of America tipped on it's side at 675 mph!!!!!!! Being a proper nutter he kept the power on and it did a 180 degree turn on the desert on its side and then righted itself onto it's wheels and he then managed to stop it.

675mph has got to be a world record for crashing surely? :)
