Can anyone shed some light on why this has happened to my new ish engine? Just bought one & had it running for about 500miles & this happened on way back from a show...... why would this happen with a new engine out the box? Have I done something or was it manufacturer issue?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have you got a photo end onwards showing the diameter of the follower; clean if possible (and maybe zoomed in a little)
Marmite the bed I thought they had snapped off; was gonna have a look at the fracture face, see if anything was telling
Is this on a 1905cc? Which cam are (were) you using? Which cam followers? Did you put the cam in each case half and check the clearance between the cam/case/follower at full lift?
T1 followers don't come out without splitting the case so it's too late for that. Maybe the engine builder supplied the photo after stripping it down. The PO may be in dispute with the builder and looking for ammo on here. He's gone quiet since starting the thread, I have a feeling we have 5% of the story...
Sent to me after case was split by the builder..... Just would like to know what would case this issue..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The builder has had the benifit of hands on stripping and inspecting everything. What does he reckon?
I think all engines should come with cam pre- run in ... It's very difficult to say where the blame lies unless parts are known to be faulty
