  3. This is an awesome resto - I thought mine was bad - you have done a brilliant job and should be very proud.

You also need to be there for your family, but good times with kids of all ages are just around the corner in a very nice bus.

  11. It scratched and dented and been painted so much I just da it all of :(and I don't like it when people cover them with vinyl so stone chipped and painted it and now it bobble with a nice shiny surface easy to clean and looks different ;)plus most of it will be covered with solar panels :)

  12. Fair play, i was only asking as i want to cover mine in something other than vinyl too. And wondered if a thick stonechip would do the same job. Maybe a bit of tigerseal over each rivet too

  13. No worries it looks really nice il get a close up pic if you like but make sure you use gravtex by upol as it's best finish

  14. I took a close up mind the dirt it's sitting in the back garden and all the rain and leaves fell on it and still need to fit rubber better but letting it settle first[IMG] and a made a 1" smotheboarder round the edge for the seal

  15. Went skegvages today :)so when I got home put pop top back together [IMG]need to let it settle abit then put the filler strip in to finsh and started to strip the arms to clean and paint [IMG] got to remake the brackets as there rotten and twisted[IMG]

  16. Finish on the top looks great! How many bottles of the stonechip did you need?
Whats it like where the rivets go? I take it a thick covering will stop any water?

  17. I only used 1 bottle:) don't forget only use upol gravtex as it's the best for covering the rest are thinner set your gun to about 35psi and spray about 2 foot away ;)I'm lucky mine is welded so i don't have rivets :)but just wipe them over with tiger seal first and they will be good :thumbsup:and I always make a very thined out primmer wash to cover the stonechip first before top coat sticks better

  18. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Mine's riveted, the vynil is an original feature, I like it myself. I don't think a riveted one would be good painted, they are too flexible, bound to leak after a while I'd have thought.

  19. Ah is it? If i can find some nice waterproof white vinyl i'd go for it maybe. But the black one that poptop parts sell would look sh!te i think on a white top bus.

But then id rather that than leaks.
