http://barnfarmcamping.com/ Me n Chelle went Saturday lunchtime for the night, lovely site in superb scenery, really relaxing location. Cost was £22.50 for the night with hook up and awning, which we didn't think was too bad - the campsite itself was well laid out, facilities where kept immaculate, we loved it! The campsite itself: We went for a walk up to the Nine Ladies Stone Circle, Matlock is in the distance, Birchover is surrounded by some superb scenery
The stone circle itself: And back again! We went for a meal in The Druid Inn, which had some very good locally brewed beers on draught, well worth popping in! http://www.druidinnbirchover.co.uk/
been going up nine ladies for last 30 years. use to be able to camp up on stanton moor around near the stones in the old days. wild camping haven full of new age travellers etc.
Ive lived close by all my life, work in sight of the hill where the stones are for 18 years. never been up there before, we was amazed how peaceful it is. We take it all for granted!
use to go to all the summer and winter solstice. hundreds of people up there. its better when you have it to your self.
The landlord of the Druid Inn suggested that their are plenty of "beautiful people" frequenting the stones
I didn't get a photo of them fanning their tales but the colours where splendid! Its a great place to relax for the weekend
