That's pretty much my reasoning for my OUT vote.

I think it's likely we'll stay in as I expect every man and his dog including those granted British asylum will be allowed to vote. I'm to young and no nothing else but a out vote would be interesting.

  3. We know what we pay in, but not what the economic benefit is, apart from the fact that both business and the Trades Unions think IN is a good idea, so a net benefit is probable. We have no idea what associate membership will cost if we exit, likely less than now but nowhere near zero.

  4. Who will be able to vote .... yesterday the BBC stated this

British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens over 18 who are resident in the UK, along with UK nationals who have lived overseas for less than 15 years. Members of the House of Lords and Commonwealth citizens in Gibraltar will also be eligible, unlike in a general election. Citizens from EU countries - apart from Ireland, Malta and Cyprus - will not get a vote.

I dont think anyone is naive enough to think operating outside would be at nil cost. Our net contribution seems a lot of money I've just been reading the year before it was £113bn.

Even thou they are now on the same side Boris has just said he won't be sharing a platform with the likes of George Galloway, fair enough coz I doubt David Cameron will be sharing one with his new team mate Jeremy Corbyn

  7. The 2016 forecast is for a UK net contribution of £11.1 billion - it seems to be around the £10 billion on average according to the House of Commons documentation

I was rather hoping that our government, when freed from the shackles of eu legislation might make it rather more expensive for Joe Public to buy stuff from abroad when we can make it at home.
    Yes, I know, silly really!

  9. So these other countries are going to let us sell to them, while we don't let them sell to us?

Free trade benefits all in the end and we need to have the rest of the world catching up with us through trade, not us trying to keep what we have and keep the poor of the world poor. That is only going to end up with more immigration pressure and more conflict.

  10. i'm voting for out the only reason I Am using is I know what its like to be in, and I don't like what I'm experiencing and seeing and how things have changed over the years, so the only vote that could
possibly make a change is out

  11. Out for me. Look at Britain before being suckered into the EEC and the 70's/80's strikes. Look at the manufacturing, look at the exports. Who remembers their Dad saying "I remember when you could walk out of a job in the morning and have another one that afternoon"? I certainly do.
Also, Boris says he wants out too so that's good enough for me.

I'm sorry but it didn't benefit the steelworkers on Teesside.
For me, charity begins at home.

I was saying to my missus that if this was lets just say a Transit van forum full of go getting self employed blokes working 12 hours shifts every day I reckon the poll would go for out, seeing as this is a classic Vw bus forum full of old lefty hippys ;) i'm suprised at that figure so far

When a thread is so one sided those with opposing view keep quiet. Who would volunteer to argue with 20 people - life's too short.
you can bet your bottom dollar the wimpy electorate will vote against change, suitably frightened by the establishment. People are getting wiser thanks to the internet, but we're not there yet. give it 20 years and the last fuddy duddy's will have died off and then we'll see.

Nobody has to come and explain their vote, it's a poll and people can't see who voted for what

    True..
I still won't be holding my breath. if it looks like "out" the lies will just get more and more.
The outs need to frighten the electorate about the dangers of staying in - it's that simple. Fingers crossed.
