Sadly not...... I left home at 17 and joined the RAF (20 years ago) so photos from back then are thin on the ground!
Yup, full interior rebuild. The old Devon conversion isn't as practical as I would like, so I've ordered a full solid oak interior from SJH Joinery. Bespoke door cards and upholstery is in manufacture, full 240v electric system etc.....
Oh......and I might wash her, she's still not been washed since she was put in the garage in 2002.....
Would be worth keeping the interior if you've got space. Weirdly enough, I'm working on a '73 at the moment, same conversion, owned by the same family from new, father passed it on to the son also.
Haven't really got the space......plus I have no intention of ever refitting it. The fit I'm doing now is for me and my family to enjoy for the next 30 years. Hense the no expense spared approach. In our hands the old girl is going to become very much a hi days and holidays bus, no commuting or bad weather unless caught out on a trip. Had a good look at it today and it would appear to be the early solid wood interior - I was remembering ply! Not sure if spending some time rubbing it down might make it more saleable or in fact reduce the originality ?!?
morning where are you from? I only ask because in the picture it looks exactly like my estate! Lovely bus
It's the sort that folds out from the front bench seat to form the bed, it's the cooker unit down the side of the rear bench. It just doesn't fit my needs. The storage is all under the seats or bed if made up, the sink/cooker is not in the greatest position for having a wash / cooking. It just doesn't work for us.
