Cheers MarkC68, Here's a few shots of various chassis repairs.

Removal of front centre section

As I'm not using heat exchangers I replaced the front centre chassis section with this Brazilian part.

A shot of the front chassis sections

and another hole repaired which sits under outrigger section

Now onto the rear OS torsion tube where it meets the chassis.  This was badly corroded on the outside edge.

I decided to replace the outer cone section as most of it was rotten!

Will take some shots of the Fiat punto seats installed at the weekend. (I tried Saab seats but found them too high for my little legs!)

Thanks for your kind words guys :)
Coming right up to date now, I'm currently working on the OS rear corner & arch.

I've cut the rear arch off along with the lower rear corner/battery tray and rear cross member.  Cut the rear corner and arch panels to fit ready for welding.

Had great difficulty getting rid of the ends of the rear cross member

More to follow shortly!

Tried shot blasting for the 1st time today.

I'm not replacing the complete OS rear corner and needed to get rid of the flakey rust behind the air vent.

As the battery tray is out at the moment I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to have a go at shot blasting while being able to catch most of the grit below.

Well, what a mess, but it was well worth it!

Here's the rust before blasting

During blasting

and after priming

Well pleased with the results!

Also welded on a repair section to the leading edge of the inner wheel arch

I've only got these few panels to weld on now! :)

Cheers guys.  Got a bit more done this weekend, not as much as I had planned but at least it's progress.

Started with the offside rear chassis repair, here's how it went:

Then spent some time cutting & fettling all the offside rear panels ready for welding

Then welded in the rear cross member

Then prep'd the section to go above the chassis leg

Hopefully I will be welding it in tommorrow after work.
