I used those loftboard things made of low quality chipboard. They lock together well, so you can cut and fit them a section at a time.

i used the same for mine, so much easier to fit than a single sheet and will last the duration in my opinion.  as previously mentioned you can easily self tapper these sheets into place by going into the floor no worries  ::)

I believe they do a water resistant version of these too.

I don't recall fixing my floor down. It was a pretty tight fit to start with and then I used an industrial type aluminium stair edge to finishe the edge nearest the door and fasten it all down. The fllor I took out was not fixed, so it never occured to me to fix mine. It won't move with the furniture on it anyway.

I installed a 6m peice of ply into the recessed area of the floor using self drilling screws, then installed a layer of 9mm over the whole carge floor, screwing it into the 6mm. That way the floor will not bow in the middle. The 6mm of ply could be replaced with 6mm of insulation.

I Use 8mm closed cell underlay in the recessed (ribbed) part of the floor, this is very light, wont hold any moisture and has great thermal and sound deadening properties.

Then I loose lay 9mm plywood over that and let the furniture hold it all down, the less amount of holes you put in your van floor the better.  ::)

I have never seen the point in using Marine Plywood as the only difference is that the layers in marine ply are stuck together with a water proof adhesive and its about 4 times the price of normal ply, If you are that worried about the ply de-laminating then just varnish the back and sides of it before fitting. However in my mind if you are expecting the amount of water needed to damage normal ply then its probably not a good idea to be fitting a new floor. :um:
