I've been looking at 7 a bit more

and i'm not convinced that it is a fish....
no opening rear 1/4 lights, and i can't see the tell tale seal in the roof for the sunroof...

You could get the bus in silver and anyone could have fitted the blue interior. And Paul is right, no opening quarter lights.

Also, if it is a Silver Fish of 78/9 why does it wear older style inner door handles and window winder arms?

 talking of winder handles, i bought one from an auto jumble so it was period correct, as my drivers door one broke... not too sad huh ;)

looking at the pic again, it does have some bits to its favour... deluxe dash and steering wheel... and it looks like a lot of the dash switches match mine too!! :)

found in australia! pics to follow but here's some gurb

Hi Pete,

We are the proud owners of a silverfish. Brought ours stock standardabout 6 years ago and have since in the process of eradicating the rustmade some modifications to our liking.
Such as:
- Motor dropped a valve so replaced with a Subbie - no regrets
- removed old rusty roof and replaced including cutting out hole forsunroof which is still original (and it works). The sunvisor madewholly from the old roof.
- removed quarter windows and side strips to reduce rust from returning
- Have replaced original front seats (which we still have kept)
The original sunvisors are black and white with vanity mirror (still have)
- kept original dash intact with working clock and trip meter on speedo
- BBS Wheels
- shaved the front air intake grille and indicators
